This is just a quick and positive update. Mike is home and resting! I prayed that he would get through the surgery without losing any other brain functions and have a quick recovery. Those prayers were answered!
As far as those of you that are praying and don’t know specifically what to pray for…
– Pray that the insurance reviews our claim and changes their mind on the claim. As of now it states that we will have to pay 50% of the bill for the neurosurgeon/brain surgery/ hospital stay. etc because we did not go to Portsmouth Naval Hospital Neurosurgical Department for the surgery. We got that letter stating that they wanted us to go there after the surgery was done. The week before the surgery we called the insurance company and were told that the referral was in an approved and that we were clear to go ahead with the surgery as far as insurance went. Now its a different story.
– We are thankful for the recovery so far and pray for continued healing and restoration.
– Pray that we have wisdom and make the right decisions on treatment.
-Healing & Restoration (these last two are huge on physical and many emotional levels)
I feel like I’m facing a giant and I’m trying to remember that God is bigger and tougher. I’m trying to proclaim that I will not be shaken and that I will stand strong on the faith that God will take care of us no matter what the circumstance. Psalm 16:8 “I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” You assume that when someone is diagnosed with a brain tumor/cancer that you would be able to focus on getting them better but there are so many other things that are huge stressors (kids, finances, etc) that are also taking a lot of time and energy.
THANK YOU to those bringing meals. That is one less thing that I have to spend energy on so that I can put that energy into Mike, the kids, phone calls, and I appreciate it so much. Please continue to pray and know that your prayers are so much appreciated.
